Michelle was Norfolk’s first Travel Trainer. Michelle said her motivation to join the team was “being able to work with young people who face barriers, to be a part of their journey and see them achieve the goals that they have.”

Michelle took part in a comprehensive training package that included safeguarding, first aid and practical training in the community prior to starting working on her first assignment. Independent Travel Coordinator, Adam Jackson, said “It is great to have Michelle on board, and her thoughtful approach and communication skills with young people will be a real asset going forward.”

Meeting the first young person she worked with was a particular highlight so far for Michelle: “It was great meeting him, seeing the excitement in his face about this opportunity and his determination to be independent. I was really looking forward to getting started and helping him realise his potential.”
